Giovanna Mingarelli is the Member of Parliament for Prescott–Russell–Cumberland. Elected in April 2025, she made history as the first woman to hold the seat in the newly established riding. With deep roots in the region, Ms. Mingarelli brings a clear commitment to community and public service. Prior to her election, she gained valuable experience working on Parliament Hill in the office of former Prime Minister Paul Martin, and she has long advocated for women’s participation in politics. Since arriving in Ottawa, Ms. Mingarelli has taken on active parliamentary roles, serving on the Standing Committee on Official Languages and the Joint Committee for the Scrutiny of Regulations and is a member of the Prime Minister's Economic Growth Caucus. Ms. Mingarelli is also a member of the Canada-France Inter-Parliamentary Association, the Assemblée parlementaire de la Francophonie, the Canada-Italy Inter-Parliamentary Group, and the Canadian NATO Parliamentary Association, to name a few. In the House of Commons, she has spoken on key issues such as steel, aerospace, defence and agriculture—highlighting her strong support for Canadian industries and supply management. A proud voice for francophone communities, she has consistently defended official bilingualism and the importance of the French language in federal institutions. Ms. Mingarelli is a vocal proponent of Canadian unity, advocating for policies that bring diverse communities together and strengthen national cohesion. Through her advocacy and parliamentary work, Ms. Mingarelli continues to deliver principled, inclusive, and forward-looking representation to the people of Prescott–Russell–Cumberland.
